NOW OPTIONALLY AVAILABLE: FOREIGN OBJECT DEFLECTORS FOR THE LOGO!MAT E-SERIES
In practice, a common question arises: What happens if foreign objects end up on the eCart track? Small components such as screws or clips are regularly dropped, especially at manual assembly stations. To achieve the high safety standards of the system, the eCarts operate with minimal ground clearance above the track. Small, flat components can fit underneath and are simply driven over. However, regardless of how much clearance is provided, certain component sizes can become trapped. As a result, angled screws or other foreign objects may become wedged beneath an eCart and bring it to a stop. While the system responds safely and immediately stops in the event of a blockage, the consequence is production downtime that must be resolved manually. This costs valuable time and reduces overall system availability.
Thanks to ongoing system development, foreign object deflectors can now be optionally integrated into the eCarts. Acting like a “snowplow” in both directions of travel, they push foreign objects into the side slots of the eCart track. This allows many components to be automatically and easily cleared from the track, significantly reducing the risk of eCarts becoming jammed by foreign objects. For particularly critical areas – such as upstream of rotary modules – optional discharge chutes can also be integrated into the center covers. This enables foreign objects to be removed from the system even faster and more efficiently.
